ABOUT OUR DIRECTOR

Franklin is the director of The Franklin Prep Academy.  He sees himself more as a Mentor/Coach than director. He graduated from Westside High School in 1981 in Anderson, South Carolina.  He finds his inspiration from his high school coach, the late John Wesley Moore. Coach Moore was a former high school All-American who taught not only the fundamentals of the game but also the fundamentals of life.

Franklin received a two-year basketball scholarship to Brewton-Parker Junior College in Mt Vernon, Georgia. While attending Brewton-Parker College, Franklin averaged 10.2 points, 9 assists, 3 rebounds, and 5 steals per game.

After his sophomore season, Franklin received a scholarship to USC Aiken for his final two years of eligibility. After his senior year, Franklin became a Student Assistant Coach for USC Aiken men's basketball team. While attending USC-Aiken, Franklin averaged 10.2 points, 9 assists, 3 rebounds and 5 steals per game.

Franklin moved to Vancouver, Canada to become the Boys Varsity Coach of Burnaby High School, and remained there for four years. He then took the position of head coach at Highline High School in Seattle, Washington for three years. He has coached at the collegiate, preparatory, and high school levels never for money or fame, just the joy of coaching young men.
